After the implementation of a new curriculum and syllabus in primary education in the state, a new approach has been adopted so that students can do self-study and remain creators of knowledge. For this, the responsibility of preparing the students in multiple ways also remains with the survey conductors of the education sector. This self-study textbook (Swa – Adhyayan Pothi) is designed to complement the textbook with multiple goals that allow students to self-study, repeat what they have learned, evaluate it ideally, determine issues for remedial learning as needed, and guide students individually as needed.
Attempts have been made to supplement the material included here in the study outcome-based curriculum and activities. The sva adyayan pothi will also be helpful to the teachers in processing the school comprehensive school assessment (SCE) accepted in the state as well as to evaluate the development of the students properly.
At this stage, I would like to congratulate all the experts who have worked on the writing, editing, reviewing, and composing of this self-study book based on their knowledge and experience with the students at the center.

Emphasis is placed on the high thinking skills of students all over the world. Not only that but high thinking skills have become an integral part of the learning process. The place of memory in the process of education is rapidly gaining understanding, application as well and re-creation. That is why in this self-study book, the proportion of memory-based questions has been kept low, and thought-based and understanding-based questions have been included.
The answer to such questions is to motivate the student to reason and seek answers rather than to be given by the teacher or the parent. The process of finding answers for the students will make them learnable. In some places, the questions have been framed according to the need for consolidation. Here too the motivation of the teacher/guardian seems to be important for the students.
